Collingwood Colours

The Birch trees with yellow autumnal foliage on a beautiful sunny morning during mid-October in Collingwood, Ontario during one of our hikes.  In the fall because of the changes in length of daylight and changes in temperature, the leaves stop their food-making process.  The chlorophyll breaks down, the green colour disappears; and leaves change yellow to orange and become the beautiful fall colours that we all enjoy.  This photograph was entered into an Art Contest in 2016 and won 2nd Prize.
