This photo was taken in South Africa at an Elephant Sanctuary where the rescued elephants roam freely, free range feed, frolic, drink and dustbath and enjoy the 300 hectare wildlife reserve.  In many cultures Elephants are featured as symbols of power, wisdom, strength and good fortune. They are strong and nurturing and are loyal to their family.  I was fortunate enough to see elephants on a trip to South Africa in Entabeni with my daughter, Samantha.  It was not only an emotional experience but an exhilarating one to not only see these beautiful animals in the wild but to also get up close with them at an elephant sanctuary where they were rescued and learn about them.
