Sometimes the best moments are the ones you don't plan for. A perfect autumn afternoon at The Salt River gifted me a beautiful and playful photograph of an encounter with this charming character—peacefully grazing while nature's fall palette danced behind him. His rich colouring and luxurious, flowing mane absolutely captivated me. There's something delightfully carefree about his whole vibe that screams "Hippy." Pure magic captured in a single frame.

About The Region:

The Salt River wild horses roam freely in their 20,000-acre habitat along the lower Salt River, protected by A.R.S 3-1491, the State law passed in 2016 for their protection. They are the icon of the wild, free spirit of Arizona and the American West.
