Let's Dance

The fight for dominance.  This was a regular happening during this time of the season.  I was luck enough to capture a moment of power as these two stallions fought.  The sounds as they clashed is something I will never ever forget.

About The Region:

The Salt River Wild Horses travel around the lower salt river within the Tonto National Forest in Arizona in small bands of 20 or so horses.  These historic and majestic creatures roam freely in their protected 20,000-acre habitat, captivating with their galloping hooves and springtime stallion battles. Taken in February 2023, this image captures the wild beauty of these two stallions battling as though they were dancing as they often battle in the springtime for their Mare.
