Taking Off

Sidney by the Sea is located along the shores of the Salish Sea on the Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island, with Mount Baker in the distance.  The Pier at Sidney  waterfront is often visited by Bald Eagles where they will perch on these pillars and hunt for fish.  An Eagle weighs 8 to 12 pounds and can carry about 1/3 of its body weight and are considered one of the largest and strongest birds in the sky. They are nicknamed “birds of prey” due to their gracefulness, balanced aggression, and fantastic eyesight.
