I love the Bruce Peninsula; its rocky shoreline is so majestic. The Peninsula provides many visually stunning rock out crops that makes its shoreline a photographer’s dream. But here at Big Tub Harbour if this lighthouse could talk, the stories it could tell would be amazing. The lighthouse was originally lit in 1885 and is still used right up to this day. The best way for me to pay homage to this piece of water heritage was to light paint it at night. By taking my camera and shooting upwards towards this grand old lighthouse I wanted to create a sense of a commanding presence as it stood guard over those that traversed the open waters of Superior looking for a place to rest. Also, just a long enough exposure to capture the night sky in all its beauty as the perfect back drop for The Guardian of Night Watch.
I hope you enjoy this image.
